Charman Biochar Active - 2 Litres

Premium horticultural-grade biochar designed to build healthier soil for the long term. With an exceptionally high organic carbon content (84%), this biochar acts as a stable home for water, nutrients and beneficial microbes — helping your soil become more resilient, productive and alive over time.

Our biochar is carefully moisture-balanced, pre-charged with organic nutrients, worm castings and compost, then inoculated with a diverse blend of beneficial microbes. This means it’s ready to use straight away - no “charging” needed.

These beneficial microbes work together to:

• Improve nutrient availability through mineralisation
  
• Support natural nitrogen fixation
  
• Encourage strong root development and seed germination
  
• Support overall plant health and vigour

Microbial inoculants include:

• Endomycorrhizal fungi (4 Glomus species)
• Acetobacter, Azospirillum
• Bacillus
• Pseudomonas species

Once added, biochar stays in your soil or growing media for years, continuing to improve structure, moisture retention and nutrient holding capacity. Used at 5–10%, it’s a powerful long-term upgrade for potting mixes, veggie beds, raised beds and even hydroponic growing media.

How to use

• Mix thoroughly into potting mix, garden soil or coco coir once only at a rate of 5-10% by volume
  
• 2 litres treats approximately 2m² of garden bed
  
• For established beds, apply a light surface layer every 6–12 weeks and water in well
