Bolivia Salt Lakes (South America)

These photos were taken back in 2009 when we went to the Bolivian Salt Flats in South America. I almost didn't make it due to a monumental stuff up with flights and a tight deadline to get to Peru to do the Inca Trail, but this trip was definitely a highlight and I am so glad we didn't miss out. For four days we were stuffed in a very uncomfortable dodgy looking four wheel drive and driven from La Paz to the border of Chile and back again. The terrain was out of this world, every turn was something different and unlike anything I've ever seen before. I honestly felt like I was on another planet. We got to a very high altitude here, it caused my nose to bleed and a short walk left us breathless. This was where I fell in love with Flamingoes.
